A More Spiritual Weight Loss
The issue of body image for women has long been a tangled one. It is not hard to find a weight loss DVD for any type of exercise you can think of- and many can show testimonials about how the technique has worked for them. But the key question is always ‘Will it work for me?”
Most weight loss techniques out there tackle the symptom, but not the problem. They address calculated ways to temporarily starve yourself, but don’t address any of the issues associated with a woman’s body image and how she sees herself every day. This has a huge impact on the motivation to lose weight, the expectations around the results you might achieve and the process which guides you towards your goal.
Ideally, if you are looking for a permanent lifestyle change and not the next ‘diet,’ an approach that is more holistic would provide longer-term benefits. Spiritual weight loss sounds like a gimmick, but taking the soul and it’s needs into account is just acknowledging that there is so much more than you body at stake in this endeavor. Your mental health and spiritual happiness are also frequently affected by your mental attitude towards yourself. Don’t discount the strength that this can have on your life. Search for a more fulfilling weight loss program- one that takes your whole self into account and attempts to address your body image issues. It’s more practical approach than moving onto the next fad diet. And you are worth the time and attention.
